Entrance Counseling
Congratulations on your decision to further your education! Since you have decided to utilize a student loan to help pay for your educational costs, the federal government, your school, and the MDHE want to make sure you are aware of the long-term effects of borrowing money for education. As a first-time student loan borrower, entrance counseling is required to help you do just that!
Entrance counseling can be administered in different ways by different schools:
- Attend one-on-one counseling with your financial aid advisor.
- Access online student loan counseling through Mapping Your Future, or
- Use the MDHE counseling booklet.
Check with your school?s financial aid office to find out which method they prefer. Remember, your school must receive verification that you have completed an entrance counseling session.
