FAMOUS
State Student Financial Assistance Programs Integrated Database
To make the student financial aid process easier for high school counselors and student financial aid administrators, the MDHE centralized the administration of its state student financial assistance programs into FAMOUS, a comprehensive web-based database that provides on time, real-time information. Through FAMOUS, you can:
- Access and view "Bright Flight" records online. FAMOUS replaces the paper rosters that high schools received in the past.
- Determine if a FAFSA has been filed for A+ students.
- View student eligibility for the Bright Flight program and state need-based aid.
- Update and correct certain student eligibility criteria.
You will have access to information for 2007 high school seniors through December 31, 2007. For the 2007-2008 academic year there will be a change in state need-based aid. The Access Missouri Student Financial Assistance program will replace the Charles Gallagher Student Financial Assistance and Missouri College Guarantee programs. If you have questions about a student's eligibility for 2007-2008 need-based aid, please contact us at (800) 473-6757, option 4.
You will have access to information for 2008 high school seniors once ACT and SAT information from the October and December 2007 test dates has been loaded to FAMOUS in late January or early February 2008. This information will remain in FAMOUS until December 31, 2008.
When you connect to FAMOUS you will be required to enter a user ID and password on the FAMOUS log in screen. To obtain your school's user ID and password, contact the MDHE at (800) 473-6757, option 4 or info@dhe.mo.gov.
