Grants

Grant awards are usually based on financial need, do not need to be repaid, and are available from the state or federal government, or the college you plan to attend.

To apply for most grants, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) must be completed by April 1 prior to the upcoming academic year.

Missouri Grant programs administered by the MDHE:

Access Missouri
(The Access Missouri Program replaces the Charles Gallagher Student Financial Assistance and Missouri College Guarantee programs.)

Public Service Officer or Employee's Child Survivor Grant Program
(Does not require completion of the FAFSA.)

Vietnam Veteran's Survivor Grant Program
(Does not require completion of the FAFSA.)

QUICK TIP: State grant awards, including Access Missouri, are not available during summer terms.

Federal Grant programs overseen by the U.S. Department of Education:

Federal Pell Grant
Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG)

For more information about grants that you may be eligible to receive, contact the financial aid office at the college you plan to attend.
