Lowell C. Kruse was nominated to the CBHE by Governor Holden on January 3, 2003. Kruse has served as president and CEO of Heartland Health in St. Joseph, Missouri for the last 20 years. In addition, he serves as chairman of the Board of Directors for the Excellence in Missouri Foundation and serves on the boards of the Northwest Missouri Area Health Education Center (AHEC), Missouri's Family and Community Trust, Premier, Inc., and the Scottsdale Institute. He also chairs the St. Joseph area United Way Success By 6 initiative. He earned a bachelor's degree from Augustana College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and a master's degree from the University of Minnesota.
