Repayment Problems

Contact your loan holder immediately if you are having problems making your student loan payments!

If you experience financial difficulties due to unemployment, illness, or other economic hardships, do not be embarrassed or afraid to ask for help. Your loan holder can talk with you about your options.

Also, you might consider contacting a local, nonprofit consumer counseling organization for advice about managing all of your personal finances. Visit the National Foundation for Credit Counseling website to locate an agency near you or to use their online debt advice service. If you are more than 60 days late making your student loan payments, visit the Student Loan Counseling Service website for information about free student loan advice.

Remember! You must take responsibility for repaying your student loan, and there are consequences if you do not.
