Free Training from the MDHE
Are you new to financial aid - or perhaps simply new to the FFEL Program? Do you wonder about the latest changes in regulations?
The MDHE offers several free workshops each year for Missouri's financial aid community, high school counselors, and other Missouri audiences.
Regional training workshops
Is your office facing travel limitations or tight budgets in this time of economic uncertainty? If so, the MDHE's regional, free one-day fall workshops may be for you. Offered in four locations around the state, the workshops include several breakout sessions, some presented at a beginner level and some slanted towards the more experienced financial aid professional. Session topics are specifically chosen for their timeliness and relevance to Missouri's financial aid professionals and the students we all work to serve.
The MDHE also provides spring beginner workshops at five statewide locations. The one-day training sessions are designed for financial aid newcomers, providing an overview, as well as practical lessons, for issues faced in demanding financial aid offices. Provided in a small classroom setting, the course leads beginners through a financial aid workbook including relevant case studies and exercises to reinforce real world situations. If you were unable to attend the spring 2009 workshops but would like a copy of the materials, contact your MDHE client service representative.
As Missouri's state-designated FFELP guarantor, all MDHE workshops are offered free of charge.
MDHE Speakers Bureau
Upon request, the MDHE may speak on a variety of industry-related and professional development topics, including detailed policy and regulatory issues, operational and processing guidelines, and other subjects.
Check out a current list of prepared offerings. The MDHE reevaluates and enhances its list regularly. If your topic of interest is not listed, please contact your MDHE client service representative or info@dhe.mo.gov.
