PROGRAM CHARACTERISTICS AND PERFORMANCE GOALS

Institution Name: Wentworth Military Academy and College

Program Name:  Associate of Science

Date:  17 June 2008

Student Preparation

There will not be any additional admissions procedures added for the program.  All admissions practices and procedures that are currently in place will continue when the Associate of Science degree program is added.  No special preparation will be required.

Faculty Characteristics

No special requirements for assignment of faculty will be made when the Associate of Science degree program is added.  Full time faculty will be assigned approximately 90% of credit hours required for the Associate of Science degree.  Expectations of faculty will not change.  Faculty will continue to offer a high degree of contact with their students and provide their students with the best techniques of teaching and learning.

Enrollment Projections

The FTE students majoring in the Associate of Science degree program should be approximately forty-three.  Full time student enrollment will account for approximately 40% of the total student enrollment for this degree program.

Student and Program Outcomes

Graduation of students successfully completing the program at the 3 and 5 year date will be between 20-25 students.  There are no special skills that will be specific to the Associate of Science degree program.  Approximately 94% of students will graduate with an Associate of Science degree and transfer to a four year university to complete a bachelor’s degree.

Program Accreditation

Wentworth Military Academy and College is evaluated by the Higher Learning Commission and North Central Association.  There will be an evaluation conducted of the entire Wentworth programs in November 2008.

Alumni and Employer Surveys

Satisfaction surveys of alumni and employers will be conducted approximately 6 months from the date of graduation.  Surveys will be predominately conducted through mailings and on-line.  Ninety-four percent of graduates will transfer to a four-year institution to continue their degree program.  Employer satisfaction surveys will be minimal until the first graduates enter the job force which is projected to be approximately 2 years after the completion of their Associate of Science degree is earned.
